River Landing Development
Please take the time to respond to the Army Corps of Engineers Public Notice regarding application for a 404 permit to impact water and wetlands at the River Landing development in Montrose, if you haven't already. You can read the public notice at FORU's web site foruncompahgre.org or click here.. to download it (pdf). Letters need to be received by mail on or before April 1st. FORU's letter of response will be posted on the web site by Tuesday.
Letters can include discussion of the importance of high functioning natural wetlands for water quality and a request for a public hearing to:
*review alternatives to the proposed plan for dredge and fill activities impacting water and wetlands of the Uncompahgre River
*request that mitigation of impacts to the wetlands be on the river site, not at a residential development site distant from the river
